Kwera provides higher education support for youth, starting in Malawi, Africa. We believe education has the power to transform lives, create social impact and contribute to economic growth. We see tertiary education and skills development together as a stepping stone towards greater personal and professional growth and we aim to support as many young people as possible on this journey.

Kwera was founded in 2017 as a social enterprise with the vision of getting ‘“More highly educated individuals who will transform lives in their communities’. Today, Kwera supports 30 local students in Malawi who study different degrees. All our students graduate debt free, and once they get a job, they pay a percentage of their salary back to Kwera. Returns are used to finance higher education for new students, creating a self-sustainable and exponential model. In a generation, this will ensure 1500 graduates with a higher education degree.

We are very grateful for the support we have received from One Life Foundation which has resulted in a new visual identity and a very professional website for Kwera. This means that we can now reach many more people and communicate the importance of education in a beautiful and unique way. We are extremely proud of this and it would not have happened without One Life Foundation.
